What this site collects

If you fill in the Share form, this site collects what you type into it, and nothing else. There is no account, no login, and no profile.

If you subscribe to updates, your email address is held by the newsletter provider. That is entirely separate from the Share form, and the two are never linked.

This site sets no advertising cookies, runs no third-party scripts, uses no session-replay tools, and has no analytics on the Share or Support pages.

How submissions are stored

Your submission is encrypted in your browser’s connection and then encrypted again before it is stored, using a key that does not exist on this website’s servers. In practice: if this website were broken into, the attacker would get unreadable data.

It is decrypted only on a personal device, by me, when I read it.

The email that tells me a submission has arrived contains only a reference number. It never contains what you wrote.

Who sees it

Only me. There is no team, no volunteer group, and no contractor with access.

If that ever changes, this page will say so before it happens, and anyone with access will be named here.

Artificial intelligence

Nothing you submit is used to train an AI system, and nothing you submit is fed into an AI model automatically.

If I ever use a tool to help with translation or summarising, it will be with material I have reviewed first, never with anything identifying a child, and this page will be updated to say exactly what tool and exactly what for.

How long it is kept

Submissions are kept for as long as they are relevant to the work, and reviewed at least once a year. Anything that is not relevant is deleted.

You can ask me to delete your submission at any time using your reference number, and I will do it unless a law requires me to keep it. If that ever happens, I will tell you so if I am permitted to.

The limits of confidentiality

I will protect what you send as carefully as I can. I cannot promise absolute confidentiality, and anyone who promises you that is either mistaken or not being straight with you.

Legal processes exist that can compel disclosure. There may also be circumstances where the law requires me to report information about harm to a child to the authorities. If you send me information about a child being harmed, please assume it may need to go to the proper authorities, and please send it to them yourself as well.

If something goes wrong

If submitted information is ever exposed, I will say so publicly, contact affected people where I have a way to reach them, and explain what happened and what changed as a result. I will not quietly fix it.
